Things I like about crafts

Hello Everyone!
It's been a few days, in case you can't count or didn't realize that I haven't written in a bit. Here's a quick update on the state of affairs:

JULIA IS GETTING MARRIED!!!!!! AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IT'S HOT IN MY APARTMENT!!!!!!!!

THERE WAS A CRAZY, BIG, POSSIBLY genetically modified cockroach in my apartment on Saturday night!!!!!!!!

KATE apparently likes AIDS!!!!!! (see below):
Kate: AIDS is lame?
Becky: Yup. Oh, I'm sorry, do you like AIDS?
Kate: Yes, Becky. Who doesn't like AIDS? AIDS is the new donuts. And if you recall, from Erin's blog: erinelan.blogspot.com, donuts are the new black. So, therefore, AIDS is the new black.

*some of this conversation may be fake. but some of it is definitely real*

OK, good. I feel better now that all of that is off my chest. Anyway, Kate (you know, the girl/my sister, who likes AIDS?) said that I should blog about crafts today since I love them so much.

Things I like about crafts:

1) Colorful. Crafts, be they knitting or collages or drawings are usually colorful. I like colors, mucho, so I like that crafts are colorful :)

2) Easy. Let's face it I can be pretty lazy...

3) Shiny. This kind of goes along with "colorful", but I thought was deserving of its own number. I LIKE shiny things, a lot. Like glitter and...tin foil? Some crafts, like mobiles or bracelets or even collages can be really shiny. That's awesome!

4) Make me special. Just like curing cancer, not just ANYONE can do crafts. It takes a UNIQUE individual to transform an idea into reality, at least that's what I tell myself. So, being a crafty person and making crafts, I've found, is a good way to BE special.

Also, people look at you in a certain, SPECIAL, way when you tell them that you spent your Saturday night making friendship bracelets or decoupaging.

Actually, maybe that's pity. ?

5) Sense of accomplishment. I feel very accomplished when I've completed a craft. I mean, when I'm done, not only do I have another useless thing that I need to find a space for in my room, but I also have something that I can show my friends/family that they won't care about. It makes me feel like I'm making a positive difference in the world :)

6) Make me crafty. So, making crafts obviously makes you a crafty person. And being a crafty person gets you on VIP lists-hot parties, movie premiers, benefit dinners, etc etc etc! Let me see if I can make this simpler:

Crafts --> Making Crafts --> Being Crafty --> P. Diddy --> His annual white party at the Hamptons --> Me --> I'm cool --> er than you

7) An excuse to go shopping. So, in order to make crafts you need to have things. In order to have things, when you're lazy and named Becky, you need to go out and buy them. I feel guilty when I buy clothes or accessories, because those are just for me. But, when I go to the craft store and buy things for my craft projects, I feel awesome. My shopping for crafts isn't really shopping for myself. It's shopping for ART. And if ART is wrong well then...I don't want to be right.

Oh, I get it, it's pointing left cuz you don't wanna be right. That took me a little while. And I think you'd like AIDS, too, if you gave it a chance.

if you like colors so much, why did you draw a colorless butterfly?

Give AIDS A Chance-hehehe.

Also, "so", I think a better question is: why is the pen collection as your desk lacking so much?
